Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs
Another couple of musts while visiting Colorado Springs are Garden of the Gods and the ever fun Manitou Springs--so those musts we did! I think the boys probably enjoyed Garden of the Gods most as they climbed any rock they possibly could and just couldn't seem to get enough. All of us did a bit of climbing--some just more than others. I think the boys would have stayed there for hours longer but it was getting hot, most of us were hungry, and it was time to move on to our next destination. So, we rounded them up and found some shade for a picnic and then moved on to Manitou Springs. Our first stop in Manitou Springs was the penny arcade of course! Such a fun place! The penny arcade is full of old games ranging from the cost of a penny to a few quarters. I'd say those in the penny, nickel, and dime range are cool just because they are so old fashion and the ones you'd prefer to play for like an hour cost ya a quarter or two--but still it's all so much fun!! Not to mention all the little rides for the little ones (you know like the miniature carousel that used to sit outside of IGA in Lynchburg). After our fun in the arcade we visited a couple of the little shops in the area before heading home. The girls probably enjoyed this part a little more than the guys but we kept it short and sweet that day! All in all I'd say it is safe to say that everyone enjoyed at least part of that day--we'll call it a success!
