No Texting While Driving...State Law!

New Law Regarding Cell Phone Use
Colorado House Bill goes into effect 1 December 2009.


1. Re:  Cell Phone and Text Messaging Law

Main Points:

•    Persons who are under 18 years of age are prohibited from using a
wireless telephone while a motor vehicle they are operating is in motion.

•    Persons who are 18 years and older are prohibited from using a
wireless telephone to send a test message (or other similar forms of manual
data entry or transmission) while operating a motor vehicle.

First Offense: Class A Traffic Infraction and $50.00 fine plus $6.00
surcharge
Second Offense: Class A Traffic Infraction and $100.00 fine plus $6.00
surcharge
