Happy Birthday, America!!

As we began preparing some of the food for our 4th of July cookout we mentioned having a party and at the sound of that Jessa's little face just lit up--- "my happy birthday party" she exclaimed! We had to tell her that unfortunately it was not her happy birthday party and tried explaining to her that it was America's happy birthday party instead and that's why we were having a cookout to celebrate the day. I don't think she ever really figured out who America was but it was cute!! Her and her inquiring mind :) Oh and she also insisted that since it was a happy birthday party we definitely needed balloons--so of course we added balloons to the celebration. It was a fantastic day--nice hot weather, lots of yummy food and desserts, corn hole, just being together with family, and topping it all off with a fireworks display not far from our house courtesy of the Sky Sox Stadium!! A good birthday for America, indeed!!
