"Time is of the Essence"

Our blog page has been a bit neglected in the past month as we've been super busy! We've been doing numerous things to prepare for the upcoming deployment and get ready for my big move. We've had several military events to go to and a few fun things planned to help us enjoy our time together before Matthew leaves. February started off with lots of visitors! Matthew's parents came the first weekend and a couple of his buddies came that next weekend. Then mid-February we attended a deployment fair which was intended to help us gather information about the deployment and learn about resources that are available while your loved one is away. It also served as a place to get some of the legal things taken care of such as power of attorney forms, wills, etc. Which of course we didn't completely utilize those services to get it all finished so we still need to work on a few things (and the time is tickin') so we better get to it quick! We had to make sure my parent's flights out here to help me pack and drive home were booked, etcetera, etetera, etcetera!  Then February 22-27 we went to Jamaica for our belated honeymoon! Yet I did come down with the stomach flu, about four days before we were to leave, which I haven't had in over ten years or so...so not fun! And for those of you who know of my  "puke-a-phobia" can only begin to imagine how horrible it was for me!! Ick!! Luckily Matthew slid by without getting it...which we were so thankful for...as that would't have made for very fun travel or start to the trip!! Then we returned to jump right back into the crazy, busy, time line of ours. Continuing to prepare for the deployment and the move, working of course, attending battalion events such as "Org Day" which was basically a family picnic with some competitive events like a company vs company tug-a-war and a best LT competition (which Matthew was involuntarily a part of). My poor man was/is pretty sick with a really nasty cold and yet still had to compete in events suchs as sit-ups, pull-ups, tire-flip, and a 6 mile ruck march...with feeling miserable he wasn't too thrilled about any of it but I thought he came in strong and looking good. I was proud of him! :) Then later that evening we had the 1-8 Social to go to...which was okay I suppose. Mainly just a reason to buy another dress...haha! Thennnn, last night we went to the Zach Brown Band Concert...which was an okay show...definitely not my favorite concert ever! Now we are going to enjoy the rest of the weekend and try to get some last minute things finished up. Time is closing in on us. Bummer!
